Privacy Policy — GhostRunner

This policy applies to both Garmin Connect IQ listings: GhostRunner Trial - pace run and GhostRunner Pro - pace run. The two editions behave identically for privacy. Other apps published by BIKINTULIS have their own policies in the privacy directory.

1. Who we are

BIKINTULIS is an independent Garmin Connect IQ developer based in Germany. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form.

2. Summary in plain language

  • GhostRunner runs entirely on your watch.
  • It requests no Garmin permissions and makes no network requests.
  • Your pace, distance, timer and lap data are used only to draw the data field and calculate the live ghost separation. They are not stored as activity history and are never sent to BIKINTULIS.
  • Your data-field settings stay in Garmin's local app storage for GhostRunner.
  • The Trial's 24-hour state is measured and stored locally on the watch. There is no account, entitlement server, advertising or analytics.

3. Permissions

None. GhostRunner does not request internet/communications, positioning, personal information, background services or external-sensor permissions. During a Run activity, Garmin supplies the data field with the timer, distance, pace, lap state and activity state needed for its on-screen comparison.

4. Data used during a run

GhostRunner processes the following live activity values on the watch:

  • elapsed/timer time and whether the activity is running or paused;
  • distance and current pace;
  • lap completion and the previous lap's average pace when Previous lap mode is selected.

These values are used only to calculate and display the runner positions, gap in meters, pace and ahead/behind/even state. GhostRunner does not create its own activity history, upload activity data, or give BIKINTULIS access to your Garmin Connect account. Garmin's normal Run activity recording is controlled by Garmin and your watch, independently of this data field.

5. Data stored locally on the watch

GhostRunner stores only its own settings, including:

  • comparison mode: Target pace or Previous lap;
  • pace units and target value;
  • whether the optional behind-pace vibration alert is enabled and its selected threshold.

The Trial edition additionally stores the first successful initialization time, the greatest trusted time observed and whether the Trial has expired. The 24-hour period starts when the Trial data field first initializes in a Run activity, including the pre-start screen; installation alone does not start it. Normal app updates preserve this state while Garmin retains the app's local storage. Uninstalling the Trial, resetting the watch or installing it on another watch may erase that storage and begin a new Trial. The offline Trial mechanism is therefore best-effort, not tamper-proof.

6. Data sent to BIKINTULIS

None. GhostRunner contains no networking feature and contacts no BIKINTULIS server. No activity data, device identifier, settings, Trial state, analytics or diagnostic data is sent to us.

7. Garmin Connect and the Connect IQ Store

Garmin distributes the data field and may synchronize settings to the watch through Garmin Connect, the Connect IQ Store or Garmin Express. Garmin's processing is governed by Garmin's privacy policy. Purchases and downloads take place through Garmin; BIKINTULIS does not receive your payment-card data.

8. The bikintulis.de website

The GhostRunner page on bikintulis.de is separate from the watch data field. If you submit a review, comment or contact message, the website processes the information you enter as described in the general website privacy policy. Visiting the page does not connect your watch to BIKINTULIS and the site uses no advertising or analytics pixels.

9. Retention and your rights

GhostRunner holds no server-side record about you, so BIKINTULIS has no watch or activity data to access, correct or delete. Local settings and Trial state remain in Garmin's per-app storage until Garmin removes them, normally when the app is uninstalled or the watch is reset. Rights relating to website comments or contact messages are explained in the general policy. To exercise a GDPR right, use the contact form; requests are answered within 30 days.

10. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated before a version with different data handling is released. The date above identifies the latest version. Questions, requests or complaints can be sent through the contact form.
