Privacy Policy — Matchday

Last updated: 7 June 2026 · Applies to Matchday v1.0 and later.

This policy applies to the Matchday watch face — both the free version (24-hour trial) and Matchday Pro (they are the same watch face). Other apps published by BIKINTULIS have their own policies — see the directory. Matchday is not affiliated with or endorsed by FIFA.

1. Who we are

BIKINTULIS is an independent developer of Garmin Connect IQ apps and watch faces. For questions about this policy, use the contact form.

2. Summary in plain language

  • To show live scores, Matchday contacts the BIKINTULIS server (bikintulis.de) over the internet and sends only an anonymous, auto-generated watch ID — a random code created on the device.
  • It collects no name, email, account, location or health data, and there is no sign-up.
  • The server uses the anonymous ID to return current scores and to run the free-trial / Pro licence for that watch.
  • Your display settings are stored on the watch.
  • No advertising, no analytics SDKs.

3. Permissions this watch face requests

PermissionWhy
CommunicationsFetch live match data from bikintulis.de over HTTPS, sending only the anonymous watch ID.
BackgroundRefresh the score periodically (every few minutes) so the face stays current without opening anything.

The watch face does not request GPS/position, heart-rate/sensors, or any other permission.

4. Data sent to the server

Each time it refreshes, Matchday sends to bikintulis.de over HTTPS:

  • An anonymous watch ID — randomly generated on the device, not derived from your name, email, Garmin account or any personal identifier.
  • Its licence state (free trial vs Pro), so the server can serve the right experience.

That is the entire payload. No personal data is sent.

5. Data stored on the server

To run the live-score service and the trial, the server keeps a small record per watch: the anonymous watch ID, its licence state, and basic technical counters (how many times it has checked in, and when it was last seen). This record contains no personal data and cannot identify you.

6. Data stored on the watch

  • Your display settings (e.g. theme) and the trial state.
  • The anonymous watch ID. These are removed when you uninstall the watch face.

7. What Matchday does NOT collect

  • No name, email address, phone number, postal address, or account credential.
  • No GPS / location data.
  • No heart-rate, fitness or health data.
  • No advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind.

8. Garmin Connect & your Garmin account

Matchday runs inside Garmin's Connect IQ platform. As a watch face it does not record activities and does not read or write anything in your Garmin Connect account. Garmin's own data practices are governed by Garmin's policy at garmin.com/privacy.

9. The bikintulis.de website

Separate from the watch face, when you use the bikintulis.de website itself:

  • If you leave a comment or review, your name, email, rating and comment text are stored. Your name, rating and comment are published publicly after moderation; your email is never published.
  • If you use the contact form, your name, email, subject and message are stored privately and used to reply to you. If you attach a photo or video (optional, up to 20 MB), it is stored on the BIKINTULIS server alongside the message and only viewable by the site owner via an authenticated admin panel. The attachment is deleted when the message is deleted.
  • Your IP address is stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash (rate-limiting / spam prevention). The raw IP is not retained.
  • Standard web-server access logs are kept up to 30 days.
  • No cookies, no third-party analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels.

10. Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Performance of a service — exchanging the anonymous watch ID to deliver live scores and run your trial/Pro licence.
  • Your consent — when you submit a comment or contact message on the website.
  • Legitimate interest — IP hashes and server logs, used solely to keep the service secure and operational.

11. Data retention

  • Server record (anonymous watch ID + licence + check-in counters): kept while the watch is in service; removed on request, after which the watch simply reappears as a fresh trial if it checks in again.
  • On the watch: kept until you uninstall the face.
  • Website comments / contact messages / logs: as in section 9.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access or delete the data held about your watch, or lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Because the watch record is anonymous, we may ask for your watch's ID to locate it. To exercise any right, use the contact form — requests are answered within 30 days.

13. Security

  • All traffic between Matchday and the BIKINTULIS server is over HTTPS.
  • The server stores data in a private database not exposed to the public internet.
  • No payment data is ever handled by BIKINTULIS — purchases go through the Garmin Connect IQ store.

14. Children

Matchday is a general-purpose watch face, is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect any personal data from them (it collects no personal data from anyone).

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect new features or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest change. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
